HACKENSACK, NJ -- 1st Bergen Federal Credit Union celebrated the community on Tuesday with free giveaways and one day only specials in honor of its newest branch on the corner of Main and Atlantic Streets in Hackensack. The celebration took place at the new branch and began with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by many distinguished guests.
After the ceremony, members of the community were invited into the branch to participate in the festivities and specials, which included same day loan approvals, special CD rates and refer-a-friend promotions. There were also free giveaways, a raffle for a $100 Visa gift card and light refreshments were served.
Since its opening in June 2009, 1st Bergen FCU has expanded its range of products and services to include savings, checking, lending, ATM/debit cards, online bill pay, check cashing, club accounts, and financial education/credit counseling. In 2015, the credit union moved its headquarters to a more accessible location, just one block away from the Hackensack Bus Terminal, on the highly visible corner of Main and Atlantic Streets.
Hackensack’s Mayor John Labrosse, Jr. was in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony. In his remarks, Mayor Labrosse highlighted the recent development that has been occuring throughout Hackensack and the important role that 1st Bergen FCU plays in the evolving community. “There’s a wide spectrum of people that we want to serve,” Mayor Labrosse said. “Our strength is our diversity and Hackensack has always been diverse and with the new developments, it’s going to grow even more.”
